Communities often strive to offer a “great quality of life.” Some contend that all a community needs to do is focus on being a great place and the economic part will take care of itself.
On the contrary, for a community to remain viable, there must also be concerted efforts towards its economic development. While these two efforts are interdependent and reinforce each other, but too often community and economic development efforts are lead by competing groups with competing interests. Those with the most influence will prevail.
Community Influencers are the next iteration of organizers. Unlike organizers, Community Influencers do not have one organization, ideology, or issue for which they galvanize support. Community Influencers have the power to affect the decisions, both socially and economically, of others because of their authority, knowledge, position, relationships and demonstrated commitment to a community. They use their influence to create positive leverage throughout the community and regarding its economic development. Community Influencers are the social entrepreneurs and the small business owners. They are creatives; makers and artists. They are volunteers and nonprofit directors. They need not be experts, they must simply be willing to be a resource and committed to the idea that they can be the reason for something better.
COMFLUENTIAL is a strategic consulting company committed to these Community Influencers. Whatever the idea or project; we want to be a part of whatever you are making better in your community.
